The Chancel Choir

Rehearses on Wednesdays at 7pm ~~ Sings on Sundays at 11am

The Chancel Choir is a traditional vested choir that provides the musical leadership for the 11am Service, as well as special services (Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, etc.).

We are open to members who are High School and older.  Previous experience and being able to read music are helpful, but not necessary.

Some of our repertoire includes:
Traditional English: Lord, for thy tender mercy's sake (Farrant), The Burial Service of Queen Anne (Croft)
American Shape Note: How Soft the Words My Savior Speaks (arr. Parker), How Can I Keep From Singing (arr. Honoré)
Spirituals: Down by the Riverside (Moses Hogan), Keep Your Lamps (Andre Thomas)
Modern Compositions: Laudate Nomen (Carlyle Sharpe), The Prayer of St. Paul (Charles Callahan), Psalm 150 (Bob Chilcott)
Classical Pieces: Sanctus (Fauré), "Hallelujah! Amen" from Judas Maccabeus (Handel)
