Give thanks for the life of Mary Chandler


MARY T. HUNT CHANDLER, age 95 of Manassas, Virginia passed away peacefully Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Chandler was born May 16, 1916 in Prince William County, Virginia, daughter of the late Tarleton B. and Katherine B. (Hutchinson) Thomas.  She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Manassas/Prince William Senior Center.

Mary was preceded in death by her two husbands, Eppa H. “Jack” Hunt and Donald W. Chandler.

Survivors include two children, Brenda Hunt Smith of Manassas, Virginia and William T. Hunt and wife Mary Ann of Haymarket, Virginia and one sister, Barbara Thomas Bell of Catlett, Virginia.


The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 2, 2012. The Very Reverend Stuart E.  Schadt and The Reverend Vinnie Van Lainson officiating.  Internment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.

The family invites you to continue the celebration of Mary's life at her home following the internment.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Capital Caring, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, Virginia 22042 in loving memory of Mary T. Hunt Chandler.
