Membership begins, for most people, by
associating with the parish. They attend worship and other church
activities as they decide if they want to make this their church home.
You are welcome to be a visitor for as long as you like We invite
all visitors and people interested in joining our congregation to
attend our three part Welcome Class. This class is offered in the
early Fall, January and after Easter around the end of April. When
you decide to join there are a number of ways to do so.
Transfer Membership
If you have previously been confirmed
or received in the Episcopal Church, we will send for your Letter
of Transfer from your former Episcopal Church. We also often do letter
of Transfer from other denominations.
If you have been baptized in a church
other than the Episcopal Church, register the date and place of your
baptism with the church secretary. You will then be a baptized member
of Trinity Church.
Confirmation Class/Bishop's Visitation
We encourage all baptized people to be
come confirmed members of the church. This is done in one of three
ways, each of which include the Laying-on-of-Hands and prayer by the
Bishop:
Confirmation is for those who
have never before made a mature, public affirmation of faith in Christ.
Reception is for those who are
being received into the Episcopal Church having previously made a
mature, public affirmation of faith in Christ in another denomination.
Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows
is for those who have previously been confirmed or received into the
Episcopal Church.
