FELLOWSHIP MINISTRIES

 The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a men’s organization started over 110 years ago in Chicago. The purpose of the brotherhood is the spread of Christ’s word to men and youth throughout the world. Our ministry work is on both a personal and group level. The principals of prayer, scriptural studies, and service are the foundation on which our ministry work is built. The brotherhood is open to all Christian men at least 18 years of age.

We meet here at Trinity every Saturday morning at 8:00am sharp. Some members arrive a little early to catch up on the week with others around the coffeepot. We begin our meetings with a hearty breakfast followed by scripture study and discussion. We are not a group of theologians or philosophers, just regular guys looking to expand our faith, our knowledge, and share our support for one another. The focus of our discussions are to see how the gospel relates to our own lives, our responsibilities as people of faith, and how we can apply Christ's teachings in our day-to-day lives. Both the cooking and devotions are led on a rotating volunteer basis. Our meetings end at 9:00am sharp so that those who have a full day planned can get started early. Our meeting size generally hovers around 15. Some of us attend often, while others attend whenever they can.

2005 was another busy year for the Brotherhood. We had 4 successful blood drives with the Red Cross this year (thanks to you)! We are entering our third year of funding the educational needs for two needy children in Guatemala.  Thanks to your generosity and the support of a couple of special contributors, we raised close to $3000 for the Episcopal Relief and Development fund this Christmas past. We continued our tradition of cooking and eating by preparing a number of breakfasts for the parish throughout the year. We went to our first National's Baseball game this summer (they lost, but we had a great time). We are currently studying the Paul's Epistle to Romans.

The Brotherhood has a great deal to offer to all men of our parish. We provide a chance to get involved, to live and learn more about our faith and about our church. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Women of Trinity

All women in the Episcopal Church are considered part of the group, Episcopal Church Women (ECW). Their work is as varied as the gifts and talents of the women themselves.

Our ECW, the Women of Trinity, continues to reassess our ministry and open ourselves to new possibilities to serve our church, our community and ourselves. Our theme continues to focus on: “There’s a Place for You”, which is meant to encourage all women in our church to take advantage of offerings throughout the year that are meant to bring us together in faith, fellowship and service.

The women’s group meets at different times of the year depending on the type of event. Over the past two years, we have moved from meeting on a monthly basis on the first Monday evening of each month, to a variety of meeting opportunities throughout the year. This change was in response to the growing number of women in our congregation who have multiple responsibilities at work and home and have difficulty committing to a regular Monday evening format. In addition, many women are involved in various offerings at Trinity that began as an event of the women’s group and became independent offerings such as the Book club. Our role at Trinity continues to evolve and provide many different opportunities for involvement. Since September we have held events on Saturdays or Sundays such as the Welcome Brunch, and the Christmas Parade Luncheon. In addition, our annual Christmas party was held on a Monday at Raylene Russell’s home.

In the coming months, we will be providing opportunities to attend the Valentine’s Day Brunch; to help with the community Lenten Luncheons; to attend a prayer/quiet time retreat; to enjoy great music and fellowship at the fifth Annual Dinner Dance in April at Heritage Hunt; and to close out the year with the Sunset Supper in June.

We continue to work closely with Stuart as we look at changing how some events that have traditionally been led by our group in years past, can evolve into Trinity-wide opportunities for our entire church family.

We welcome and encourage women of all ages to share their ideas, gifts and talents by participating in the Women of Trinity. We are strongly committed to providing a place for all women in our congregation where they can share in the love and fellowship of God.

SeasonHeirs

A growing number of Trinity members, fifty years and older who are called the SeasonHeirs, continue to meet on a periodic basis.  We enjoy getting together during the week to chat and enjoy each others fellowship.  Our time together starts with lunch,  you bring your own sandwich and we supply the drinks and desserts, followed by a short program and we end with an opportunity to play some of your favorite games with some Trinity friends.

Trinity Book Club

Trinity Book Club began in 1999 as a meeting place for fellowship through shared reading experiences.  It is open to anyone who loves to read.  We meet the third Sunday of each month (Sept-June) at 4:00 PM in the church library.

To join one should read the book for the next meeting and attend the meeting.  A listing of the books we are reading for the year is posted on the door to the church library.

Let us emphasize that you will be warmly welcomed into the group if you love to read and want to learn what others thought as they read also.

Remember, joining is easy, simply read the book selected for the current month and come for the meeting and discussion.  Everyone is welcomed.

Tuesday Morning Bible Circle

The Tuesday Morning Bible Circle has most recently been reading the letters of Paul in a chronological order. We are currently reading Corinthians. We meet each Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Drop in and join us any time.
